Selma came across my work via The West Mill‘s blog and after telling me about her plans, I was very grateful she did.
They had a multi cultural Icelandic/Irish/Nigeria wedding and the details were amazing.
Every time I shoot a wedding at The West Mill, which is a Derbyshire wedding venue, I feel spoilt. The venue is designed so your wedding naturally flows throughout it. One floor is your ceremony, another your wedding breakfast and a different one to dance the night away in.
I always say how relaxed my couples are but Selma and Sadiq took that to another level. When I came to get them for their couple shots, they decided against having them! To say that made me a little nervous is understatement! I’ve never had a couple not have any couples portraits but I must admit, when bringing all their photos together, it was so beautiful, I actually didn’t notice!
The venue was styled by the amazing Princess Occasions. It was the first time I had worked alongside them and hopefully not the last.
One thing very important to Selma and Sadiq was the evening do and the dancing. I absolutely loved watching and capturing this and couldn’t help but keep taking pictures.
I hope you love looking over their images as much as I loved being there and taking them.
I am extremely lucky that I get to capture weddings in the most beautiful venues and it’s always exciting when I receive an email, asking me to capture a wedding in a venue I have never been to before.
The West Mill is a sort after wedding venue in the East Midlands. It was an industrial Mill that has been transformed into the most beautiful, popular wedding venue. If you like the thought of exposed brick walls and a very stripped back, industrial looking wedding venue, then this is the place for you.
When Lucy and Dave got in touch and told me about their day, I couldn’t help but get excited. Not only was the venue amazing but I also knew the florist they had chosen and she happened to be Lucy’s Godmother, so the flowers were going to be something special!
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was beautiful and the day ran seamlessly. What I loved about the West Mill is the fact that each stage of the wedding happens on a different floor of the building. There is no turn around time!
Thank you Lucy and Dave for throwing the perfect wedding! I really hope you love your wedding photos as much as I loved capturing your day,
