An Outdoor Wedding – Kai and Melissa

Birmingham Wedding Photographer Birmingham Wedding Photographer

As an outdoor wedding photographer, I get to meet some great couples and this was definitely the case when I met Melissa and Kai. They were a delight to work with and their country farm wedding was a delight to shoot. Let’s start at the beginning of their day.
On the day I arrived early at Studd Farm Barns (holiday accommodation owned and ran by Kai’s parents) where the wedding party were getting ready for the day. I took the opportunity to take some shots of the beautiful hand built barn, especially built for the wedding and marquee all dressed and ready for guests. Everybody had clearly worked very hard and it looked absolutely amazing. Imagine vintage rustic charm and you’re there. In fact you don’t have to imagine, take a look at my images.
I also got a chance to take some shots of Melissa, Kai and their wedding party as they excitedly got ready before heading to St Swithun Church in the pretty market town of Drayton Market for the ceremony. Read more

Festival Themed Tipi Wedding – Rachel and Michael

Festival themed tipi wedding with Elite Tents

When Rachel and Mike booked me, they hadn’t found their ideal venue yet, they had only booked Elite Tents to supply the Tipis! About a month later I had an email saying it was going to be held at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. I already knew how beautiful these gardens were from capturing weddings in the Hall, so I was really excited to see the Tipis up there.

For me, it was a bit of a surprise about the wedding day. I didn’t know a theme for a start, so when I arrived at the house for bridal prep and saw the ‘Woodfest’ invite that had gone out to the guests, I couldn’t wait to see what they had planned for the reception!!

After the ceremony and a few photos outside, I raced off to get to Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens before any guests got there and WOW……the first thing you saw was this walkway of multi coloured flags, lining the way for the guests.

As I was walking down, I saw the wonderful Marianne of M Style taking photos of her creation. I couldn’t wait to see what she had done. There were wooden garden signs everywhere, directing the guests to where things where. There were paper lanterns and streamers in the trees to add colour and then there was inside. The table centres had been made, there was bottles of drink to help yourself to in wheelbarrows and the most amazing bell tent set up that I have seen, for people to camp out in. A wedding camp site! Rachel and Mike had thought of everything.

It was wonderful to work alongside Kate at The Wedding Companion again, as she made sure everything was running smoothly and Fine Food Matters provided the tasty food you can see below.
