Tipi Wedding Photographer – The best of!

Tipi Wedding Photographer

I am very fortunate to be able to capture tipi weddings often and the couples they attract are so relaxed and creative. One of the main reasons I love them so much!

When I say creative, I mean you never know how the decor is going to look from one wedding to the next. I’ve seen festival themed tipi weddings, pastel colours, skulls as table centrepieces, yurts for your guests to sleep over in, rain and my couples not caring, bumper cars, you name it, i’ve seen it at a tipi wedding.

Just having that freedom for you to create the perfect day, that suits your personalities completely, is something amazing in itself.

Elite Tents are often the tipi company I get to work alongside regularly and I can’t fault their passion in what they deliver.

I know from the beginning it might seem a lot to organise but that is what we are there for and I can help you with recommendations or advice every step of the way.

I have put together some of my favourite pictures from a few of the tipi weddings I have captured, just to give you some inspiration for your day. Really hope you like them….

Festival Themed Tipi Wedding – Rachel and Michael

Festival themed tipi wedding with Elite Tents

When Rachel and Mike booked me, they hadn’t found their ideal venue yet, they had only booked Elite Tents to supply the Tipis! About a month later I had an email saying it was going to be held at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. I already knew how beautiful these gardens were from capturing weddings in the Hall, so I was really excited to see the Tipis up there.

For me, it was a bit of a surprise about the wedding day. I didn’t know a theme for a start, so when I arrived at the house for bridal prep and saw the ‘Woodfest’ invite that had gone out to the guests, I couldn’t wait to see what they had planned for the reception!!

After the ceremony and a few photos outside, I raced off to get to Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens before any guests got there and WOW……the first thing you saw was this walkway of multi coloured flags, lining the way for the guests.

As I was walking down, I saw the wonderful Marianne of M Style taking photos of her creation. I couldn’t wait to see what she had done. There were wooden garden signs everywhere, directing the guests to where things where. There were paper lanterns and streamers in the trees to add colour and then there was inside. The table centres had been made, there was bottles of drink to help yourself to in wheelbarrows and the most amazing bell tent set up that I have seen, for people to camp out in. A wedding camp site! Rachel and Mike had thought of everything.

It was wonderful to work alongside Kate at The Wedding Companion again, as she made sure everything was running smoothly and Fine Food Matters provided the tasty food you can see below.

Mythe Barn Wedding Photos – Maddy and Ste

Tipi Wedding PhotographerMaddy and Ste met me at one of Mythe Barn’s open days. I’m so lucky, as a Birmingham Wedding Photographer, to be local enough to capture weddings at Mythe Barn since the day it opened. Soon after us meeting, I was counting down for their wedding day.

Fast forward to 2017 and Maddy and I met up for a coffee to chat about the day, as it was fast approaching. To say I was excited after this was an understatement. They had booked some of the best suppliers out there.

Pumpkin events were styling the reception room! Bridal Hair Specialists were doing the hair and Hayley Price was doing the make up. Then there were the flowers!! I obviously couldn’t know how amazing these were going to look until the day and wow, The Florist Gate did not disappoint.

Here is Mythe Barn’s ceremony room….

Mythe Barn Wedding PhotosWhen I arrived at the venue, bridal prep was in full swing. Everyone was really excited and many suppliers were busy downstairs making the rooms look more amazing than they already did.

As I made my way downstairs, I saw how nervous Ste was and I knew the minute he saw how beautiful Maddy looked, he wasn’t going to be able to hold back his emotions. I love watching people in love and that moment they are saying the vows to one another.

Everything was so perfect throughout the day and my favourite part was seeing all the guests have so much fun with the singing waiters.

After Maddy and Ste received their gallery, they had the most wonderful things to say “I knew as soon as I saw Nicola’s work I would be using her for our wedding day! On the day Nicola is there for you and helps as though she is part of your friends and family. She knows exactly what to capture and I felt at ease all day! When we sat through and looked at our photos it brought back so many memories of our day that we didn’t take in, so it was lovely to go through them. I would 100% recommend Nicola”.

I don’t think my couples realise it’s me who’s the lucky one! I hope you enjoy looking through the images from the day too. There is so much wedding inspiration here!

Beautiful Tipi Wedding with Elite Tents – Chelsea and Jim

Birmingham Wedding Photographer

We hit it off from the day we met. So much so, Chelsea and I would meet up for ‘wedding chat’ dates that would be lunch dates, with a little bit of wedding talk at the end.

For such a long time I was waiting for this day to come around. To see it all come together. I’d never been to a wedding with bumper cars there for a start and I knew there were so many details to look forward to!

When the day finally arrived, we thought it wasn’t going to stop raining. They were having a Tipi wedding supplied by Elite Tents and rain wasn’t a welcome guest! It didn’t put anyone off though, in fact, once you were in the Tipi, you didn’t really notice what was going on outside.

Eventually the rain did stop, everyone went outside and the evening do began on the bumper cars! Quite an entertaining thing to watch when everyone had been on the table wine!

I really hope you enjoy the pictures and witnessing that even if it does rain on your Tipi wedding, you’ll be having too much fun to even care!

Gorgeous Farm Wedding – Liv and Andy

Birmingham Wedding Photographer

I first met Liv and Andy on their engagement shoot and we went for a walk to view the Church and where the reception was going to be. As far as I knew, it was at Andy’s Grandparents farm, not too far away. We approached this beautiful house and it wasn’t until a little further on I realised Andy’s Grandad was keen on trains. So much so that he’d built his own railway in the garden!

When you think this family couldn’t get any better, the wedding day arrived. I walked into Liv’s Parents house and instantly thought I’d never seen anything like it. I was shown the most beautiful dress and asked who the designer was, to be told Liv’s Mum had made it! Can this family be anymore talented?

I hope the photos show what an amazing day this was…..

Warwick House Wedding – Sophie and Dan

Birmingham Wedding PhotographerA few years ago, I became friends with a wonderful Woman called Abigail. She is the amazing talent behind Pumpkin events. We have worked together quite a few times now, on styled shoots and couples weddings but nothing was more rewarding than Abigail recommending me to her own family members.

This beautiful Bride is called Sophie and she is Abigail’s Sister (no pressure there then). After the Girls got ready at the Welcombe Hotel in Stratford upon Avon, we all headed to St Peter’s Catholic Church in Leamington Spa, where I don’t even think Dan was prepared to see how beautiful his bride looked walking down the aisle. A Mythe Barn Wedding – Kenny and Laura

Birmingham Wedding Photographer

I first started talking to Laura and Kenny when they emailed me, the same morning as visiting their potential venue Mythe Barn, a wedding venue in Warwickshire. Laura sent the sweetest email saying she had followed my blog for ages and didn’t want to miss out on booking me, so wanted to get in quick! When I get emails like this, I still can’t believe how lucky I am that the nicest people actually follow me and keep me in mind when their big day is being booked!

Laura and Kenny’s whole day was held at Mythe Barn. Having two Children themselves, Family enjoying themselves was of huge importance, so goodie bags were provided for the children and a photo booth provided by Pudding Bridge for the adults. Christian Fletcher the Magician was there too and really did entertain the guests after the wedding reception. I saw the note in the fruit trick here first and not on Britain’s got talent heehee!

I hope you like having a peek into their day as much as I loved capturing it. These amazing suppliers were also a part of making this day fantastic;

Shustoke Barn Wedding – Alan and Kat

Shustoke Barn Wedding Photographer

One of the great things about Alan and Kat’s wedding is I didn’t have to wait long for it to come around. They got in touch around three months before their wedding and we instantly hit it off when we met up. Once they started telling me about their plans, I couldn’t wait to capture their day!

They were having their reception at Shustoke Barns, a beautiful wedding venue in Warwickshire. Lots of flowers, a Gospel choir, great food and Family. What more could I ask for? Maybe toasting some marshmallows on the evening fires! Perfect.

Beautiful Tipi Wedding at Cedar Fields

I met Nicola and Steven a few times, at Elite Tent open days! Even though I was there to show couples albums and answer any questions about photography, both times meeting these Guys, we used to just talk about stuff. Kids, wedding plans, hobbies, weirdly everything but their wedding photography.

During one of these open days, my friend Heather at Rustic Roast Kitchen mentioned Nicola, how lovely the family are and said she couldn’t believe they didn’t have a photographer because their wedding sounded amazing.

As if on cue, Nicola walks into the tipi because one of her little Girls had left their bag behind, That was the first time photography was mentioned and here are some images that I captured of their beautiful day.
