Mythe Barn wedding photography – Amy and Adam

Shooting summer wedding photography at Mythe Barn is a dream booking for any Birmingham wedding photographer.  Amy and Adam chose the perfect venue for their June wedding. Not only that, I am now so fortunate to call Amy my friend and they have since welcomed their beautiful baby into the world.

On the day I caught up with Amy who along with the rest of her bridal party was having breakfast and getting her hair and makeup done at her sister’s house before they all headed for Mythe Barn to make their final preparations.

When I arrived at Mythe Barn I caught up with Adam and his grooms party and got a couple of shots of them. I then took the chance to get some images of Mythe Barn all dressed and ready for the day.

One of the reasons I love shooting wedding photography at Mythe Barn is that is such a gorgeous venue, it blends new with old so perfectly and has exquisite light which helps me no end when photographing my clients (we Birmingham wedding photographers are real light geeks!)

Amy looked gorgeous in her Heidi Hudson lace detail dress as she walked down the aisle behind the page boys.  (Who all looked very handsome and who performed their duties very diligently!)

After a lovely ceremony held in the stunning oak beamed barn with spectacular views of the Leicestershire countryside Amy, Adam and their guests all spilled outside to enjoy the sunshine and a drinks and canapes reception.  I quickly whisked Amy and Adam off to take some portrait shots of them set around Mythe Barn.

Everybody then went Mythe Barn’s Grain Store Barn for the wedding reception.  This barn is stunning! The ceiling drapes and elegant chandeliers make it such a luxurious setting and the ceiling to floor windows open out onto Mythe Barn’s beautiful gardens.    Tables and chairs were exquisitely dressed with flowers done by local florist ‘The Florist Gate’.

Before the wedding breakfast everybody enjoyed some very well received speeches before tucking into a delicious meal.  After the meal I thought I’d make the best of the late afternoon sunshine and took Amy and Adam outside to the surrounding farmers’ fields to get some romantic portrait shots of the two of them with the beautiful Leicestershire countryside as a backdrop.  Take a look, they are amongst my favourite images of the day.

The evening celebrations saw Amy, Adam and their guests back in the Oak Barn where the clever people from Dance Floor DJ and Events had everything ready for a party!  After the cutting of the cake the evening started with Amy and Adam’s romantic first dance and the image of Amy and Adam dancing with all of their loves ones around them seemed an appropriate image to close the story of their lovely wedding day.

Mythe Barn wedding photography is always such a pleasure to shoot and Amy and Adam were such a pleasure to work with.  Congratulations to you both for getting married and creating such a wonderful day to remember.  I hope my images will help you relive it again and again for many years to come.

Tipi Wedding Photography – Bridie and Alex

As a busy Birmingham wedding photographer I always love shooting tipi wedding photography and I always love working with couples like Bridie and Alex.

Let’s start at the beginning of Bridie and Alex’s day.  We arrived early so we could get some images of Bridie and her bridal party getting ready at home.  Everybody was in good spirits.  We also caught up with Alex and his groom’s party (who were having a cheeky pint) at The Talbot at Knightwick.

Bridie looked beautiful in her dress bought at ‘A Stitch in Time’ with bouquet (and all the other flowers at the wedding) provided by Rosara Flowers.  Bridie’s smile was infectious and really set the tone for a fun day!

The ceremony was held at the church of The Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria in Droitwich Spa. This fine Grade II listed building contains the most stunning mosaics and sculptures.  Entering the church the site of them just takes your breath away. But don’t take my word for it take a look at my images.    It made the most beautiful backdrop when capturing Bridie and Alex’s wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony there was a lovey confetti moment and the chance to take some photographs.

Now shooting wedding photography at The Talbot at Knightwick was a pleasure.  This 14thcentury traditional coaching in is a must for foodies looking for a warm welcome.  Set in the pretty village of Knightwick The Talbot, with its countryside location within the Malvern Hills District, is a popular location for campers so where better to have a Tipi wedding.  The Tipi looked amazing all set up and ready for Bridie, Alex and their guests. Take a look, it’s the epitome of laidback rustic charm.

On arrival Bridie, Alex and their guests all enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception outside. With the sun shining, children playing and everybody mingling it was the perfect moment to whisk Bridie and Alex away for some quick romantic portraits shots around the grounds of The Talbot.

Everybody was then seated in the Tipi for the wedding reception which started with some very well received speeches before food was served.  The Talbot prides itself on good food sourced locally so Bridie, Alex and their guests were all well fed and watered.  I then took my chance to get a few portrait shots of Bridie and Alex making good use of the early evening sunshine.

The evening’s entertainment started with a gorgeous sparkler procession followed by a romantic first dance. It wasn’t long before Bridie and Alex were joined on the dancefloor by family and friends and it was the image of them all cutting shapes on the dancefloor that seemed my que to take my leave. Before getting to my car I took one last shot of the Tipi all lit up with Bridie, Alex and their loved ones all partying inside and it felt like a fitting image to close the story of their amazing wedding day.

A gorgeously stylish, fun and laidback wedding for this lovely pair.  Congratulations to Bridie and Alex for getting married and allowing me to capture it.  I hope my images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.

A beautiful Mythe Barn Wedding – Hannah and Kenny

Wedding Photography at Mythe Barn – Hannah and Kenny

Ask any Birmingham wedding photographer and they’ll tell you they love shooting wedding photography at Mythe Barn. Hannah and Kenny chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding.

On the day we arrived early at Mythe Barn to capture Hannah and her bridal party getting ready in one of Mythe Barn’s suites. Hannah was in good spirits and safe hands with bridesmaids Charlotte and Paige on standby. I then took the chance to get some images of Mythe Barn all dressed and ready for the day. One of the reasons I love shooting wedding photography at Mythe Barn is that is such a gorgeous venue managing to be both rustic and contemporary at the same time. Set in 150 acres of farmland on the borders of Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Leicestershire, Mythe Barn looks out over rolling hills and meadows to the River Sence. With sheep grazing as you drive from the road in to the farm, it’s a rural, fairy-tale setting for a wedding.

Hannah looked beautiful in her 2haveand2holdforever wedding dress that had the most beautiful lace detailing on it and gave her an exquisite silhouette in my portrait shots. Hair on the day was done by the very talented Laura Mills and makeup by Harper. The overall look was one of effortless and understated glamour.

Just before the ceremony I caught up with Kenny, who along with his groom’s party (Harley and Connor) was looking resplendent in a three-piece petrol blue suit. Flowers were really beautiful and were the clever creation of Jessica Andrews.
Hannah and Kenny’s wedding ceremony was held in the stunning oak beamed barn with spectacular views of the Leicestershire countryside. It was a lovely ceremony with live musical accompaniment. Now it’s always nice to work with other professionals in the wedding industry and this was the case with Wesley from Wedding Memory who was there to film the wedding.
After the ceremony everybody enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception in the Cart Barn which has a beautiful stone floor, hops hanging from the oak beams and gorgeous lighting which really helped when taking candid shots of Hannah and Kenny guests.

Whilst guests happily mingled I took the opportunity to quickly whisk Hannah and Kenny away to get some beautiful portrait shots of them set around the grounds and farmland of Mythe Barn. They returned to a lovely confetti moment before everybody was seated for the wedding breakfast that was being held in the Grain Store Barn.

Well, what can I say about the Grain Store Barn other than the obvious? That it looked amazing. Really, take a look! This contemporary barn boasts stunning floor to ceiling windows opening up onto the garden and picturesque views beyond. The elegant décor has beautiful chandeliers, stylish wall lights and ceiling drapes. It really is stunning and has every Birmingham wedding photographers favourite thing in the world ‘tons of natural light’!

Before food there were some very well received speeches, that saw the sharing of the some great photographs and Kenny’s best men Harley and Connor dressed in red lingerie! Then it was onto the delicious meal.

It’s the little details at weddings that tell you something of your client’s personalities. At Hannah and Kenny’s take a look at the bar! This one catered for everything and did so in such a gorgeously stylish way. I also loved the four tier wedding cake which was the clever creation of Sophie Page.

Evening celebrations saw Hannah, Kenny and their guests back in the Oak Barn where the people from Dance Floor DJ’s and events had thought of everything. The party kick started with an impressive first dance that included a confetti canon moment. After that the dancefloor was quickly full with guests young and less young! Before no time the party was in full swing which was my cue to leave.

A fantastically fun and stylish wedding for this lovely pair. Congratulations to Hannah and Kenny for getting married and creating such a wonderful day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember. And thank you for allowing me to tell the story of your amazing day.

The Connaught Wedding – Ashley and Adam

I was recommended to Adam and Ashley by my good friend Mel. She is a Photographer herself and we got chatting about her best friend getting married and asked if I was available on the date. Thankfully I was but didn’t know too many details at that point, just date and location.

I had the pleasure of meeting Adam and Ashley over a cuppa at Mel’s house. It then became very obvious how amazing their day was going to be.

The house that everyone was getting ready in was just around the corner from the venue, which was really handy for the Grooms to just pop in and check everything was going smoothly. Prep was going well, so I decided to take a walk around too. Read more

The Crazy Bear Wedding – Katrina and Mark

See that picture above? That is how you check in to The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire.

I was like a kid in a sweet shop at this venue, as this was just the beginning of all the amazing things on show here.

Katrina and Marc celebrated the whole day here, from Bridal prep right up until the dancing. Katrina got ready in a beautiful log cabin whilst Marc and his Son got ready in one of the stunning bedrooms on offer here. I spent the whole day thinking how can I come back here as a guest!!

With just very close friends and family present, the day was full of love and laughter and what better way to dance the night away to than Sinatra!

Thank you Marc and Katrina for asking me to capture your day alongside the wonderful Blue Ridge Video. We really did have the most amazing time!

Ashfield House Wedding Venue – Becca and Kirsty

When Becca and Kirsty announced their engagement, plans for the day soon began to unfold and it was exciting to see as their wedding photographer. They chose the amazing Ashfield House in Standish, Manchester as their perfect wedding venue and it didn’t fail to disappoint. From their wonderful bridal prep area, light and spacious rooms, to the excellent staff on the day, they had thought of everything.

Becca and Kirsty both got ready at the venue but in separate rooms. Whilst Becca’s room was buzzing with lots of Women getting ready, Kirsty’s room was full of calm, although I think that was more nerves ;).

The touches throughout the day were perfect. From the beautiful floral displays, filling not only the reception rooms but also the walls of the venue, down to the effort made to make every guest feel special. Nothing went unnoticed. It does always make me laugh when the singing waiters make their entrance and fall over in the wedding reception.

Grab a cuppa and take a minute to have a look at their day. It was perfect…..

The West Mill Wedding Venue Wedding – Pretty Pastel Theme

Selma came across my work via The West Mill‘s blog and after telling me about her plans, I was very grateful she did.

They had a multi cultural Icelandic/Irish/Nigeria wedding and the details were amazing.

Every time I shoot a wedding at The West Mill, which is a Derbyshire wedding venue, I feel spoilt. The venue is designed so your wedding naturally flows throughout it. One floor is your ceremony, another your wedding breakfast and a different one to dance the night away in.

I always say how relaxed my couples are but Selma and Sadiq took that to another level. When I came to get them for their couple shots, they decided against having them! To say that made me a little nervous is understatement! I’ve never had a couple not have any couples portraits but I must admit, when bringing all their photos together, it was so beautiful, I actually didn’t notice!

The venue was styled by the amazing Princess Occasions. It was the first time I had worked alongside them and hopefully not the last.

One thing very important to Selma and Sadiq was the evening do and the dancing. I absolutely loved watching and capturing this and couldn’t help but keep taking pictures.

I hope you love looking over their images as much as I loved being there and taking them.

Garden Wedding Reception – Sarah and Alex

Garden Wedding Garden Wedding

I love shooting Cotswold weddings especially when I get to work with great couples like Sarah and Alex who had a beautiful summer wedding in the pretty and historic market town of Chipping Campden.

Sarah’s parents Karen and Thomas opened up their beautiful home and garden to host the wedding. On the day I arrived early so I could take some shots of Sarah and her bridal party making their final preparations.

The family had worked flat out to create a perfect wedding venue. The marquee, all dressed and ready to receive the guests, looked fabulous and the garden looked simply stunning.

Sarah was in good hands with her family and maid of honour Emily there to help her with any final preparations. Along with some of the four flower girls (Lizze, Emily, Emma and Nele) Sarah looked stunning in her lace vintage style fitted dress, the very essence of beautiful and understated glamour. Read more

An Outdoor Wedding – Kai and Melissa

Birmingham Wedding Photographer Birmingham Wedding Photographer

As an outdoor wedding photographer, I get to meet some great couples and this was definitely the case when I met Melissa and Kai. They were a delight to work with and their country farm wedding was a delight to shoot. Let’s start at the beginning of their day.
On the day I arrived early at Studd Farm Barns (holiday accommodation owned and ran by Kai’s parents) where the wedding party were getting ready for the day. I took the opportunity to take some shots of the beautiful hand built barn, especially built for the wedding and marquee all dressed and ready for guests. Everybody had clearly worked very hard and it looked absolutely amazing. Imagine vintage rustic charm and you’re there. In fact you don’t have to imagine, take a look at my images.
I also got a chance to take some shots of Melissa, Kai and their wedding party as they excitedly got ready before heading to St Swithun Church in the pretty market town of Drayton Market for the ceremony. Read more
