“We’ve booked Pumpkin Events for the styling, Cotton and Crumbs for the cake and my dress is from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks”. I always ask about a couples plans when we meet up, to try and get a feel for how their day might look and feel. When I hear the names of some of the suppliers they are using and when I also realise I know them and know how amazing they are, I can’t help but wish the time away for their day to come around.
I’d visited the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham a few times but I’d never captured a wedding there, until now. After meeting over coffee, I was over the Moon when Emma and Yannick emailed to say they would like me to capture their day.
On the morning of the wedding, I arrived at the hotel where Emma was getting ready. Walking up the stairs I noticed this huge window and immediately thought, how do I get a dress up there! The Lady at the The Edgbaston Hotel was amazing and said she had ladders that could get up there! Sometimes I’m glad no one watches you prepare for these shots but they do always love them!
The highlight for me was the speeches. Emma and Yannick have very loving families and the speeches got very emotional. The reception room at the Botanical Gardens must be very dusty as some flew right in my eye and made them water!
Here is a small selection of photos from their day. I hope you like them.
